MONROE, LA 鈥� Ellie Jenkins, DMA, Professor of Music at Dalton State College in Dalton, Georgia and Artist Affiliate in Horn at Berry College
in Rome, Georgia, will present a recital on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. in
Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on the 51萝莉 campus. Jenkins will be assisted by 51萝莉
Professor of Piano Richard Seiler, DMA. Jenkins will also work with 51萝莉 music students
in a masterclass earlier that day.听听
Jenkins is principal horn in the Carroll Symphony and the Chamber Players of the South,
and second horn with the Rome Symphony. She has toured Taiwan with the Atlanta Pops
Orchestra, and for the past several summers has performed with the Classical Music Festival Orchestra in Austria. Jenkins
holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin 鈥� Madison (DMA), University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
(MM) and the University of Miami (BM).听
The evening鈥檚 program, 鈥淐haos and Possibility,鈥� will present a diverse collection
of works by lesser-known composers and women composers, with some calling for unusual
techniques on the instrument.听
