April 19, 2011: Dan Rather
Dan Rather, who has circled the globe reporting on some of the most significant events
of our time, will speak on 鈥淲hat I鈥檝e Learned from a Lifetime of Reporting,鈥� at 7
p.m., April 19, 2011, in Brown Auditorium, as part of the University of Louisiana
at Monroe鈥檚 Lyceum Series.
Earlier in the day, Rather will share his experiences with 51萝莉 students in a master
class, followed by a short visit with local media outlets before heading to a Patron
Party scheduled at 5:30 p.m. in the 51萝莉 Conference Center.
鈥淲e are extremely pleased to host another in a long succession of notable speakers
for our annual Lyceum event,鈥� said 51萝莉 Provost Steve Richters.
鈥淭he dialogue that occurs between the public and the speakers we host each year is
just one more example of the intangible benefits the university provides through its

51萝莉's Lyceum Series began in 2003 to promote intellectual exchange among 51萝莉 students,
faculty, staff and the community.
