What should I expect on interview day?
The 51蹤獲 College of Pharmacy interviews are conducted by泭invitation only and are泭designed
to assess an applicants interpersonal泭communication skills, writing ability,泭motivation
for pharmacy school and泭commitment to patient care. An applicants泭leadership, problem
solving and泭critical thinking skills are also evaluated.泭
Faculty, staff, and senior students all participate in the interview process, which
is conducted utilizing the Mini Multiple Interview (MMI) format. In addition to the
interview itself, applicants will receive a tour of the pharmacy facilities, meet
and have an opportunity to have their questions answered by professional pharmacy
students, complete a writing assignment, discuss their application with an admission
officer, and more.泭
Interviews begin in September and extend through May.泭Applicants invited for an泭interview
will be notified by email indicating the泭date and time that their interview will泭take
place at the University of泭Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy. Interviews are泭conducted
monthly on泭Fridays and applicants should plan to spend 4-5 hours at the泭school.
What are rolling admissions?
The process of rolling admissions allows us to interview students on a monthly basis, filling our class continually as we go. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible since there is no guarantee that seats will be open toward the end of the admission cycle. We interview beginning in September and will continue through June with the exception of December. Please note that the priority deadline is November 1, 2024泭and the regular decision deadline is May 1, 2024.泭
What GPAs are required for admission to 51蹤獲?
We prefer to consider applicants with pre-pharmacy, cumulative, and math/science GPAs of at least 2.5 (uncorrected, based on a 4.0 system, + and - grade designations are not recognized) in all previous coursework undertaken, exclusive of developmental courses, whether passed or failed at all institutions of attendance. These calculations are made based on the information submitted to PharmCAS.
泭What types of letters of recommendation are required for application?
The admissions committee requires three letters of recommendation from the following individuals:
1 science professor
1 university professor of any subject
1 work supervisor
Professor letters must be completed by individuals under whom you have completed coursework. If you cannot provide a letter from one or more of the above individuals, Dr. Laurel Sampognaro can provide guidance regarding acceptable substitute letters. Please note泭that letters from the following individuals will not be accepted: non-supervising co-workers, teaching assistants, family members, and friends.
How will I know which courses to take at other universities to fulfill 51蹤獲 College of Pharmacy prerequisites?
You may check your course equivalency or contact Dr. Laurel Sampognaro (sampognaro@ulm.edu, 318-342-3800) for information regarding equivalent course work at other institutions.
How recent must my prerequisite course credit be to be accepted by 51蹤獲?
Students applying for admission into the College of Pharmacy must provide the University with official transcripts for all courses attempted during the ten years prior to the anticipated date of admission into the Doctor of Pharmacy program. (For example, if admission is expected in the Fall 2025 semester, transcripts should be provided for all courses attempted from the Fall 2015 semester through the date of application.)泭
Courses completed outside of this ten-year window will not be allowed to count as credit toward a students prerequisites for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.泭 Students may appeal this policy to the admissions committee and if the appeal is successful, the applicant will be considered in the admissions process. What is the deadline for completing prerequisite coursework?
Students offered admission into the Doctor of Pharmacy program must complete all of their pre-pharmacy requirements with a grade of C or higher two weeks prior to the first day of the fall semester of the calendar year in which they are admitted into the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
How much does it cost to attend the 51蹤獲 College of Pharmacy?

Does the College of Pharmacy have out of state scholarships?
Yes, the College has a limited number of scholarships for qualified students.
To qualify for the PharmD Out-of-State Fee Scholarship, non-resident students must meet the following academic requirements:
